PQT

Il Prof. Dott. Tranchida si è laureato in Chimica e Tecnologia Farmaceutiche (106/110), presso la Facoltà di Farmacia dell’Università degli Studi di Messina nel 1993. Ha lavorato per nove anni (1994-2002) presso un’azienda alimentare (Molini Gazzi s.p.a., Messina) come responsabile del laboratorio chimico e del sistema aziendale HACCP. Dal 1 dicembre 2002 al 30 novembre 2005 è stato titolare di una borsa di studio di Dottorato di Ricerca in Chimica e Sicurezza degli Alimenti (XVIII ciclo), presso il Dipartimento Farmaco-chimico della Facoltà di Farmacia dell’Università degli Studi di Messina ed ha conseguito il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in data 11-01-2006. Dal luglio 2004 è cultore della materia per il SSD CHIM/10 (Chimica degli Alimenti), presso la stessa facoltà. Durante il corso di Dottorato ha effettuato lavoro di ricerca in uno “stage” tenutosi presso la Shimadzu Corporation, Kyoto, Giappone, occupandosi dello sviluppo di un sistema gascromatografico multidimensionale (MDGC). Nel periodo dicembre 2005-novembre 2006 è stato titolare di una una borsa post-dottorato a tempo determinato (12 mesi) (Resp. Prof.ssa Paola Ficarra, Dip. Farmaco-chimico, Facoltà di Farmacia, Università di Messina), per la collaborazione all’attività nel programma dal titolo “Metodiche analitiche nella ricerca e sviluppo di farmaci”. Dal 29 dicembre 2006, ha preso servizio come ricercatore (SSD CHIM/10) presso il Dipartimento Farmaco-chimico (settore Analitico-alimentare) della Facoltà di Farmacia dell’Università degli Studi di Messina. A decorrere dal 29 dicembre 2009 è ricercatore confermato. Dal 31 marzo, 2011, ha preso servizio come professore universitario di II fascia (SSD CHIM/10) presso il Dipartimento Farmaco-chimico (settore Analitico-alimentare) della Facoltà di Farmacia dell’Università degli Studi di Messina, ed è titolare del corso “Chimica degli Alimenti e dei Prodotti Dietetici (Farmacia Magistrale).  

È stato spesso invitato a tenere relazioni orali a congressi nazionali ed internazionali, a sottomettere lavori scientifici su giornali internazionali, e a scrivere capitoli di libro. È stato premiato per il terzo miglior poster al “35th International Symposium on Essential Oils” tenutosi a Taormina, Messina, nel 2004, per il miglior poster al “30th International Symposium on Capillary Chromatography” tenutosi a Dalian, Cina, nel 2007, e per il miglior poster al “XXII Convegno Nazionale della Divisione di Chimica Analitica della Società Chimica Italiana” tenutosi a Como, nel 2010. Nel 2012 (9th GC×GC Symposium, Riva del Garda), gli è stato assegnato il premio internazionale “Phillips award” per i suoi risultati scientifici ottenuti nel campo della gascromatografia bidimensionale “comprehensive”.

Il Prof. Tranchida è stato invitato a prestare servizio come “Guest Editor” per un numero speciale su “Food Analysis” e su “Comprehensive Chromatography”, per la rivista “Journal of Separation Science” (Wiley), per un numero speciale su “Hyphenated Techniques in Separation Science” per la rivista “Journal of Chromatography A” (Elsevier). Nel 2009 è diventato membro della “Advisory Board” della rivista “Journal of Separation Science”. Attualmente, è consigliere del Consiglio Direttivo del Gruppo Interdivisionale di Scienza delle Separazioni (SCI) ed è Coordinatore del corso di dottorato in “Chimica e Sicurezza degli Alimenti” (Università degli Studi di Messina).

La sua attività di ricerca è focalizzata sullo sviluppo di metodi avanzati nel campo della scienza delle separazioni, e la loro applicazione principalmente in campo alimentare. In particolare, si è dedicato allo sviluppo ed applicazione di sistemi cromatografici multidimensionali classici e “comprehensive” (GC-GC, LC-GC, GC×GC, LC×GC), combinati con  varie forme di spettrometria di massa (a singolo quadrupolo, a triplo quadrupolo, a tempo di volo ad alta risoluzione).

Attualmente (Dicembre 2015), il Prof. Tranchida risulta co-autore di 105 articoli scientifici, con un “H index” di 24, un M index di “1.97” e 1838 citazioni (fonte: Scopus). Inoltre, è co-autore di 16 capitoli di libro, e di 245 comunicazioni a congressi (poster e presentazioni orali), nazionali ed internazionali.
