Prof. Peter Q. Tranchida awarded with the “John Phillips Award 2012”

Prof. Peter Q. Tranchida was awarded the “John Phillips Award 2012” at the 9th Comprehensive Two-Dimensional Gas Chromatography Symposium and the 36th International Symposium on Capillary Chromatography, held as a combined event in Riva del Garda (Italy). Prof. Tranchida is an associate professor at the “Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche, Biologiche, Farmaceutiche ed Ambientali”. Since the beginning of his career, Prof. Tranchida has devoted his attention to the development of innovative gas chromatography techniques, such as comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC). The inventor of this technique, introduced in 1991, was Prof. John Phillips, who passed away in 1999. Since 2004, the “John Phillips Award” is assigned to individuals who contribute significantly to the improvement and expansion of this important analytical approach. Prof. Tranchida performs his research activities in the labs of the Analytical Food Chemistry Division, directed by Prof. Luigi Mondello.
